Losing weight is easy. Maintaining the weight loss is much much harder.
One of the staples of my recent journey to ‘beach body nirvanna’ has been avocados. These little vegetables are truely amazing. Loaded with monounsaturated fat in the form of oleic acid (the same in olive oil) these delicious fleshy green balls of healthy fat raise good cholesterol; lower bad cholesterol; support brain and adreanal health; and helps reduce blood pressure.
Most importantly they taste great. Mix it up with sour cream (though I prefer it with cottage cheese) or top in onto whatever meal you happen to be eating. Some cultures even mix it with milk as a form of milkshake. Its really hard to imagine a situation where eating an avocado can go wrong.
Your diet will determine the vast majority of your health. It will determine the vast amount of your ability to burn fat. You cant outrun a shitty diet. Give your body the tools it needs to take care of itself. Avocados are one of those tools.Im not the only person trumpeting avocados health and taste properties Absolutely Avocados
will take what you think can be done with avocados and turn it on its head. You will get so many new tasty ideas with this book like I did.
Four hard boiled eggs. Red leaf lettuce topped with jalapenos onions broccoli avocado red kidney beans and olive oil.
Tuna Melt Sandwitch on Sourdough bread with fries (its leg day I need the carbs) and since some ass decided to pull the fire alarm at work I missed out on the opportunity to get the grilled chicken and rice with veggies that I normally get from the cafe that I had planned
Destiny; they both concluded as they cocked their heads thoughtfully, looking up and sipping their lattes from different ends of life. – Holy Ghost Writer, The Anonymous Girl.
Holy Ghost Writes takes you by the hand to the glittering heights of wealth, prestige, and luxury usually reserved for European royalty to the depressingly confined walls of the FDC all the way to the salty crisp air of open sea in his/her latest fantastic tale of hacker-espionage and intrigue. Scenes are described vividly and with style.
Outwitting all challengers to her vision the reader finds the intelligent, resourceful, and shrewd Zaydee aka Her Royal Highness Princess Jane Doe to be a well developed protagonist that never fails to surprise from beginning to end. Settings and characters come alive as Holy Ghost Writer weaves another stellar thriller with non-stop action combined emotional growth.
I have become a fan of Holy Ghost Writer and look forward to reading more of his/her work in the future! If you want a well plotted edge of your seat read I recommend this book.
I am beginning to think that when someone asks me “How’d you do it?” they are just looking for an excuse to not get off their ass and do the work, because it really is that simple. Another coworker asked I gave the stock answer: I did it by intermittant fasting while eating low carb and hitting the gym as hard as I could. There are lots of ways though what is your goal? Cause the specifics change based on it.
I watched his eyes glaze over, and once I said gym he practically ran from me in terror. He put had put no thought what he wanted. No thought into the sweat equity required. Just winging it wont get the job done. Thinking there is a magic pill/routine/anything that will burn the fat for you is foolish. I just do not understand thinking you can radically change habits without SOME kind vision in mind, and a plan to get there based on the vision.
No wonder everyone seems to jump from one diet to the next. You need a vision to cling to when the sugar cravings hit hard. You need a vision when your legs buckle on that last squat rack.
Last year I told myself I wanted to be under 10 percent bodyfat and looked for a diet and exercise regimen that would take me there. Have the ending in mind first. Everything else will be much easier.
In other words do the work. It. is. that. damn. simple.
The Magical invocation that successful people use to achieve their goals is “I can” – Andrii Sedniev.
Andrii Sedniev’s Book The Idea Lifestyle Bundle: An effective system to fulfill dreams, create successful business ideas, and become a world class impromptu speaker in record time is a 3 for 1 bundle that if you follow the tenets in his book will open up an entire new avenue for accomplishing your dreams.
The book begins by explaining that true happiness comes from living with a sense of purpose, and that sense of purpose is born from the continuous completion of worthwhile goals and daily tasks.
You will learn via visualization how to develop for yourself a grand vision, and how to compartmentalize that into monthly goals, and daily manageable tasks. The first book alone would be worth the purchase price, but you also get “The Business Idea Factory” where you will learn that creativity is a skill to be exercised to mastery, and “The Magic of Impromptu Speaking” teaching you the art of creative communication. The three books complement each other seamlessly to create a well rounded blueprint for success moreso than other self improvement books which I found refreshing.
I actually read the entire set over the last 3 days, and provided me with insight and motivation to work harder on my own life. I spent an entire day writing and planning both short term and long term goals for myself.
If you are looking for a great book that will inspire you to get moving on your goals and aspirations that is also filled with actionable advice check this book out here
Its been a couple of days since I have posted anything.
Breakfast: 6 eggs cooked overmedium. Large Sausage Link. Potatoes. Num Num.
Dinner: Salmon. Organic Avocado. Cottage Cheese. Pepper Jack Cheese. (My kale smelled rotted so I didnt get to eat it unfortunetly)
Work has been kicking my ass of late. Havent had time for gym as I go from one job/shift to the next. Last week was 80 hours. This week is 76. I want the money to invest, but at the same time I cant let my fitness goals/time with loved ones fall by the wayside either. If anyone has any ideas on juggling 2 jobs let me know heh.
Reading: I finished 3/4 of God Emperor of Dune. Woot. I picked up The Idea Lifestyle Bundle
cause it is free today. Free books are always welcome.
I spent my one day off drunk with the girlfriend. We are still in that honey moon phase where I can do no wrong. Its nice. We ended up blacking out and waking up in the morning not knowing what happened….
Writing: I have the idea of the next story I will be writing about, and just about finishing one I’ve been working on for awhile that I let sit on the sidelines.
Investments: Nothing new to report. Fiverr is doing ok. My prosper account is humming along nicely no complaints there. My earnings so far on that is ~10%. Not bad; not bad.
That was my week in a nutshell.
Next week goals to focus on: Reading & Writing; Training.
Breakfast: 4 Brown Eggs. Tomatoes. Polish Sausage.
Dinner: Tuna Melt on Sourdough. Spinach salad with tomatoes, mushrooms, sunflower seeds, carrots, avocado, cheese, and jalapenos with olive oil dressing. Damn good.
I had two beers last night. Blue Moon. Ice cold. Delivered to me by the girlfriend. She’s lovely.
Thinking back on my journey over the last year I cant help but dwell on the beginning. A pull up was impossible and the idea of going an entire day without soda was laughable. I read books like Primal Body, Primal Mind: Beyond the Paleo Diet for Total Health and a Longer Life
and thought that is not for me it’s too hard. I love soda, and candy, and cheesecake too much. Oh! How I love cheesecake. Notice how I didn’t say loved. The great thing about how I eat now is how much healthier I feel on a day to day basis. There is no guilt when with friends/family and pie or cake is offered. I am going to eat the pie. Keep the diet simple. Meat. Veggies. Sugars low. It seems so simple, but incredibly difficult without motivation.
My motivation was more painful then it should have been. Watching a yourself balloon up in slow motion in front of a mirror, being called fatty mc fatfat, or any other cruel name wears down your soul, but they didn’t kill it. I still have my soul. I am taking my soul back one squat at a time.
Breakfast: 5 ounces hard boiled eggs. Broccoli. Mushrooms. 2 ounces olive oil. Bellpeppers. Avocado
Dinner: Rueben sandwitch on sourdough. Spinach. Avocado. Mushrooms. Olive Oil.
Other: Coffee, Tea, and Almonds.
Didnt go to the gym either. Gonna be meeting up with a chicka after work as well…..so beer will be consumed. Tomorrow will be a heavy workout day and probably low carb to recover.
